ART
With challenges through various lifelong chronic health issues, I’ve come to realize the importance of nurturing authentic inspiration in a mindful way. Looking at images and items that can ignite joy has become a daily meditative practice that stimulates self-awareness. Where do I find beauty? What makes me smile? What leaves me feeling hopeful? What lifts me to feel better than I felt before?
Whether I'm working on crafts, fiber arts, printmaking, digital illustration, or mixed media painting, these inspirations are the kinds of things I incorporate into my work, in an effort to pass on the goodness. I draw on interests of vintage goods, textiles, patterned fabric, emotion, nostalgia, language, and nature. My goal is to provide something you can lose yourself in, if only for a moment, to come away with encouragement and comfort.
WORDS
I'm an award-winning author and developmental editor specializing in psychology, mind-body-spirit, and neurodivergent self-help books. I'm also interested in young reader, middle grade, and teen fiction. I've worked in publishing for two decades within design, production, and editorial. A large portion of my experience has been as an acquisitions editor where I've reviewed countless proposals and supported authors through the development of 200+ books. I'm also an author myself, so I understand the excitement and challenges of the process from a range of perspectives. I work with publishers and authors, offering a seasoned eye to guide them through developmental editing and support their path to publication.

Book Proposal Prep
If you have a book idea and want to present it to a publisher or agent for consideration, you'll need to put together a proposal. If you aren't sure where to begin or want someone to look over what you have to make sure it's polished and ready to go, I can help!
Developmental Editing
If you have a draft of your book ready to go, but want an experienced editor to review it and make sure it's the best it can be, I can help here, too! This is my passion and where I really love to work with authors. While my specialty is in non-fiction, I also welcome works of fiction.
This service is not copy editing, where grammar and fine details are being corrected. Developmental editing is more about the overall structure, making sure the outline is naturally organized and flows well, the tone is meeting your audience, the pace is steady steady and doesn't get bogged down in certain spots, etc. It's guidance like, "move this section here, cut this paragraph, add in a story here, this part is a bit confusing, try sharing more about this detail here."
Commissioned Artwork
If you have an idea for a painting, print, illustration, or other art piece that you'd like commissioned please be in touch! I love to hear what clients have in mind, whether it's an abstract expressionist style painting to suite your personal space, or something else like a landscape painting, portrait illustration, or memorial item.
Memorial Artwork
Losing a loved one is one of the hardest experienced we face in life. Beyond learning the gradual steps for moving beyond grief and loss, part of our struggle is in figuring out how to remember those we cherished in life and now honor in death. Often these tokens of remembrance include traditional items like photos, jewelry, clothing, or other materials like playing cards or knitting needles. These mementos remind us of who they were and the memories we shared. Through memorial paintings and textile pieces, I incorporate those tokens of remembrance into artwork while also making note of any suggestions and preferences you have for your specific piece to honor, remember, and celebrate the life of someone you cherish.
